About Molise

Wedged between Abruzzo and Puglia with 35 km (22 miles) of unspoiled Adriatic coast, Molise is Italy’s newest region, formalized in 1970. It is under the radar, even in Italy – jokesters wink and call it “Molisn’t”. But no crowds and no UNESCO cultural sites are precisely what make sparsely populated Molise a refreshing destination. Explore its Apennine wilderness; hike its network of rural tratturi, seasonal sheep herding trails; visit some of the best Roman ruins (no lines!) outside of Lazio; discover remnants of the pre-Roman Samnite civilization; and enjoy a unique cuisine of truffles and durum wheat pasta. Campobasso and Isernia are delightful – let us show you!

Expand your horizons… In south central Italy, Molise borders on Abruzzo, Lazio, Campania and Puglia. Combine it easily with an epicurean experience in Castelli Romani in Lazio; with a tour of Pompeii in Campania; and with the seaside Castello Aragonese in Taranto in Puglia.

Note: All driving tours feature English-speaking drivers and are private unless otherwise mentioned. Tours are priced based on pick-up point and number of participants. All sightseeing tours are accompanied by expert local guides.
