Drink – don’t drive! – on this Private Guided Tour of the Langhe, a UNESCO World Heritage-listed Region of hilly vineyards, small towns and Castles. Italy’s wonderful Barolo and Barbaresco wines are your destination, and on the way you’ll see places associated with them: Grinzane Cavour Castle from the 13th century; the town of La Morra where Barolo was first produced; Falletti Castle; the “100 Tower” town of Alba and the village of Barbaresco with its imposing 11th century defensive tower. You’ll learn and taste at Barolo-producing and Barbaresco-producing wineries and stop at an enoteca (wine bar) in a deconsecrated church in the Barbaresco DOC.
*NOTE: Lunch is not included. The Piedmont Wine Route is perhaps the best of all Italian wine routes. Wine aficionados can personalize this tour to concentrate on just one varietal, rather than both as above. For a 7-hour tour of either Grand Barolo or Grand Barbaresco wineries, please contact us
