Drive with our Expert Driver to Venaria Palace, just outside of Turin. An expert local guide will show you this spectacular UNESCO World Heritage Site, constructed in 1675 as a hunting lodge by Duke Carlo Emanuele II of Savoy. From its magnificent Baroque beginnings, the palace underwent many changes over the centuries. Most telling, Napoleon transformed it into troop barracks, leveling the formal gardens for training grounds. Later the Italian army used it the same way. The Ministry of Culture set things right in 1978, restoring the buildings to their former grandeur, though today’s gardens are modern, with modern statuary. After your tour, time to stroll the village of Venaria.
