In the morning, board the fast train to reach the famous “City of Lovers”. Your Guide will meet you at the Train Station and accompany you in a 2 hours passeggiata (walk) through the streets of Verona, Shakespeare’s fabled city of “Romeo and Juliet”, “Two Gentlemen of Verona” and “The Taming of the Shrew”. Here you will find Italy’s third largest Roman amphitheater, well preserved and still in use, and learn that intact Roman roads are 6m below street level. With someone special, imagine a romantic encounter beneath Juliet’s balcony. Visit Piazza Erbe, the still-used ancient marketplace, and see Dante’s statue in Piazza Signori. Walk the heart of this UNESCO-listed city, past medieval palazzos and porticos, to cross the oldest bridge over the River Adige, Ponte Pietra, built by the Romans in 100 BCE. You will have some free time to continue the exploration, and at the end of the day you will board the fast train to return to your Accommodation.
