Arrive by car to Marmore Falls, about one hour from Perugia, a stunning example of ancient Roman hydro-engineering! The world’s highest man-made waterfall (165 meters) feeds the Nera, a class 4 river that you will navigate by inflatable raft. After ‘suiting up’ and receiving basic training, you will begin your thrilling one-hour descent through rapids, gorges and lush countryside. With teamwork, your expert captain makes it seem easy. You’ll be grinning from ear to ear, both of which will be wet! Afterward enjoy time for lunch on your own and personal exploration of this lush wilderness, including trails to the waterfall, caves and grottos.
*NOTE: Each raft is under the control of an Expert Licensed Rafting Guide.B asic training and necessary equipment are provided.All participants should be in good health, between the ages of 18 and 60, and weigh less than 100 kilos (220 pounds).All participants must be adept swimmers, although life jackets are supplied and required. Each raft accommodates six people plus a licensed guide.Wear sturdy shoes for hiking after the rafting trip – and prepare to get wet! The rafting part of the experience, including training, transportation to starting point, descent and shower lasts 2-3 hours.
